As co-owners, investors and profit-sharers, our members are the owners of the cooperative. In this capacity, they are involved in the democratic decision-making process of MünchenerHyp. All members have the same rights and each member has only one vote, regardless of the number of shares held. This ensures that decisions cannot be made on the basis of the economic strength of a few against the will of the majority of members. These principles strengthen the economic independence of MünchenerHyp and enable it to follow long-term sustainable business policies.


We work hard to promote the qualifications and motivation of our employees. This begins with personal development. One significant element of personal development is professional training, which we support financially and through time off. We offer training and seminars, support junior management employees, educate trainees and apprentices and work with universities in various fields. Furthermore we are particularly keen to enhance our working environment, to safeguard the health of employees and to improve their work-life balance.

Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken

We support Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken where our know-how and experience can best assist them. To do this we have developed an integrated approach. Support is provided through numerous sales and marketing channels geared to the individual requirements of each partner. Examples include product and system training for bank employees, sales coaching or the provision of advertising materials. One particular method of sharing experience is the “Learn from the Best” workshop, which is held twice or three times a year, where best practices are exchanged.


Pfandbrief investors have high demands. We therefore place particular importance on intensive personal support for our investors. Our goal is to build and retain trust in MünchenerHyp and its Pfandbrief issues. This is why we make comprehensive up-to-date information available to our investors and attach great importance to making our business model transparent. In this way, we react to the needs of investors to learn more about the issuer, not only to be better able to estimate their creditworthiness, but above all to recognise the significance of Pfandbrief-based funding for the success of our business model.


We offer our customers a wide range of financing solutions which can be tailored to their individual needs. We aspire to offer high-quality property financing on attractive terms. This includes a guarantee, at no extra cost, that loans will not be sold or receivables assigned to third parties. If payment problems and arrears arise, we work with the customer to try to find a solution. Often loan conditions are adjusted to meet the customer’s altered circumstances, for example through a reduction in the rate of repayment or by agreeing an instalment plan. Collateral is only resorted to after all other options have been exhausted.


MünchenerHyp is a member and patron of approximately 70 organisations across the scientific, environmental, cultural and social spheres. Our commitment to sustainable development in finance is demonstrated in particular through MünchenerHyp’s membership of banking federations. These particularly include Bundesverband der deutschen Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken (BVR), the regional cooperative associations and Verband deutscher Pfandbriefbanken (vdp).
