Kai Schubert elected as new Chairman, Joachim Hausner and Waldemar Kelm as new members of Münchener Hypothekenbank’s Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board of Münchener Hypothekenbank today elected Kai Schubert, a member of the Board of Management of Raiffeisenbank eG (Hagenow), as its Chairman. He has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2012.
The Delegates Meeting of Münchener Hypothekenbank had earlier elected Joachim Hausner and Waldemar Kelm as new members of the Bank’s Supervisory Board.
Joachim Hausner is Chairman of the Board of Management of VR Bank Bamberg-Forchheim eG. He is also District President of the Upper Franconia District Association and a member of the Association Council of the Bavarian Cooperative Association (Genossenschaftsverband Bayern e.V.).
Waldemar Kelm is a member of the Board of Management of Volksbank Jade-Weser eG with responsibility for the corporate clients business. He is also a member of the Front Office/ Products Advisory Board of the Weser-Ems Cooperative Association.
“With Joachim Hausner and Waldemar Kelm, the Supervisory Board is gaining two individuals with a high level of professional expertise and many years’ experience within the Cooperative Financial Network,” said Kai Schubert, Chairman of Münchener Hypothekenbank’s Supervisory Board.
The previous Supervisory Board Chairman, Dr Hermann Starnecker, stepped down from the Board at the end of his term due to reaching retirement age. He had been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2016 and its Chairman since 2019. Until his retirement at the end of 2025, he served as Spokesman of the Board of Management of VR Bank Augsburg-Ostallgäu eG.
Kai Schubert paid tribute to his achievements: “Dr Hermann Starnecker played a key role in shaping the development of Münchener Hypothekenbank over many years. With his strategic vision and extensive experience, he provided invaluable impetus for the Bank’s successful development.”
At the conclusion of the Delegates Meeting, Jürgen Hölscher, a member of the Board of Management of Emsländische Volksbank eG, also stepped down from the Supervisory Board for personal reasons, having been a member since 2013.
“We would like to thank Jürgen Hölscher for his many years of dedicated service on the Supervisory Board. With his experience and clear vision, he significantly enriched the work of the Board, particularly during challenging times,” said Kai Schubert.
